Receptionist/Holiday Sales Assistant

Schedule: 10 hour shift, Holidays, Monday to Friday, Weekends
Salary: £9.50
– £10.50
per hour
Job Description:

This receptionist role is a Full-time role; we are looking for someone who can work up to 45 hours, 5 days a week. Must be available weekends/bank holidays. The office opens at 8am finishing times vary to the time of year; this can be up to 9pm in the summer.

Wages to be discussed at the interview stage. Due to the nature of the tourism industry, it is important that staff have a flexible approach to their work. There are a total of 28 days holiday per year pro-rata, holidays cannot be taken during school holidays or bank holidays as this is our busiest time. The office is open 7 days a week.

Please note there is a lucrative bonus scheme available paid monthly, to be discussed at interview (approx an additional c£5k per annum)

The receptionist works on one of the reception desks in the main office, there is a computer network with each computer having Microsoft office programmes, we also have a specialised booking system for which on the job training will be given, there is access to other office equipment, the office at Lady’s is at its busiest during the main summer months particularly in the school holidays. The office staff work closely with other departments, the main reception is open plan with customers, staff and delivery drivers often calling in. There is a lot of customer contact and variety which makes it a very interesting place to work, during the summer season it can be a busy and noisy office but also very friendly.

  • A conscientious approach to work with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and office procedure skills.
  • Cheerful, confident personality with good customer care skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and level-headed in demanding situations.
  • Able to work flexible hours at busy times.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Being able to prioritise work tasks, adjust to shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
  • To prioritise workload in an efficient manner and to liaise with assistant manager/ Reception Supervisor.
  • It is important to be able to assimilate information quickly as there is a lot of training initially, as well as to be helpful, friendly and efficient.

It is an extremely varied receptionist role that develops over time. You will gain experience and skills in many different areas. It is recognised that for or a person joining the company for the first time, it will obviously take some time before they will be able to carry out all the work tasks listed above. The main requirement for the job is for someone who is interested, willing and able to learn.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Dealing with complaints from customers or including management/supervisor if no resolution is found
  • Answering general enquiries, passing on important information and messages
  • Taking bookings for the caravan park/Seasonals/storage
  • Receiving calls and directing them to the correct departments including dealing with incoming sales calls
  • General reception duties (answering customers questions regarding bookings or the local area)
Experience/Requirements:
  • Sales: 1 year (preferred)
  • Reception/customer service: 1 year (required)
