For this years Christmas fun, Shaldon Boxing Day 3-Legged Run is back! A hilarious event, whether you are taking part or watching. See the creative fancy dress ideas, or take part in this mini pub-crawl.
Shaldon is a village a couple of towns over, on the beautiful south Devon coast. Their unofficial motto is “a quaint English drinking village, with a fishing problem”, which we find particularly apt for this unusual boxing day tradition.
Easily accessed by the number 2 Stagecoach bus from Exeter Road near Lady’s Mile to Dawlish, depending on holiday bus times. Alternatively, drive to Teignmouth (there won’t be much parking available in Shaldon!) and take a picturesque walk over Shaldon Bridge. We also have Englands oldest passenger ferry, offering passage from Teignmouth Back Beach to Shaldon River Beach. Please keep in mind that the running times are weather dependant and can stop running at short notice.
From the Shaldon Water Carnival Committee:
“The Annual Shaldon 3 legged run takes place on Boxing day around the village of Shaldon visiting all the drinking establishments in the village. Dress up and take part or just come along and watch the antics as entrants go around the village pubs enjoying a quick ‘pit-stop’ at each for swift half pint (soft drinks for kids!)”
We hope to see you at Shaldon Boxing Day 3-Legged Run!
