Haldon View Pitches - Touring & Camping at Lady's Mile

Touring & Camping

We’ve got four different pitch options for touring and camping, each with their own perks (have a look at our pitches here). But why choose a night under the stars in the first place? Well, here are a few pretty good reasons:

  • Get back to nature – Fresh air, birdsong, valuable time together. Bliss.
  • Cheapest option – All the facilities, lower price. Winner.
  • Perfect for longer stays – Fancy a week? Two weeks? Go for it.
  • Bring your own setup – Whether it’s a tent, tourer, or motorhome, you’re sorted.
  • Low maintenance – No beds to make, no worries. Just turn up and enjoy.
  • Pure nostalgia – Remember those camping holidays as a kid? Time to recreate the magic.
  • Camping community – There’s something lovely about the touring and camping crowd. Friendly faces, evening chats, that classic holiday park vibe.

Who Chooses Touring & Camping at Lady’s Mile?

Seasoned Campers & Tourers

These are the pros. They’ve got their own caravan, motorhome, or a tent they could pitch in their sleep. They love the freedom of bringing their own setup and wouldn’t have it any other way. Outdoor living? They’re all over it.

Budget-Conscious Families

Families who want the full holiday park experience – heated pool, entertainment, play areas, the works – but need to keep an eye on the pennies. Touring and camping gives them everything Lady’s Mile has to offer without the higher accommodation price tag. Smart move, really.

Retired Couples & Over-50s Tourers

Couples who’ve invested in a lovely tourer or motorhome and are making the most of it! They enjoy exploring the UK at their own pace, love the independence, and appreciate being part of the touring community. Plus, having beautiful South Devon right on their doorstep? Can’t beat it.

Adventure-Seeking Families

These are the parents who want their kids to experience “proper” outdoor holidays. Think BBQs (yes, you can toast marshmallows), stargazing without a phone in sight, and waking up in a tent thinking “this is SO much cooler than a hotel.”

They’re not fussed about luxury – they’re after the experience. Teaching the kids how to pitch a tent, spotting constellations, getting muddy, and making memories. It’s all about getting back to basics and letting the little ones actually connect with nature.

The Conker glamping exterior with hot tub

Glamping

Ah, glamping, camping’s fancier, more put-together cousin. It’s for people who want the outdoor experience without, you know, actually roughing it. Here’s what makes it brilliant:

  • An experience – This isn’t just accommodation, it’s a whole vibe
  • Unique – Way more interesting than a standard hotel room
  • A proper step up from camping – All the fun, none of the “why is the ground so hard?”
  • Private hot tub – Because sometimes you deserve to soak under the stars with a glass of something nice

Who Chooses Glamping at Lady’s Mile?

First-Time Campers

These are the “I love the idea of camping but…” crowd. They’re not quite ready to commit to sleeping on the ground in a tent, but they fancy the outdoor experience. Glamping gives them actual beds, heating, and proper walls – basically, all the fun bits of camping without the potential for a rubbish night’s sleep. Perfect for dipping your toe in!

Families Who Want Easy

Parents who want that lovely camping vibe but absolutely cannot be bothered with pitching tents, inflating a million airbeds, or packing the entire contents of their house. With glamping, everything’s already set up. You literally just turn up, chuck your bags down, unpack the snacks, and you’re done. Bliss.

Groups & Friend Getaways

Mates planning a weekend away who want something a bit more interesting than a hotel. Our Safari tents are perfect for groups – you get to hang out together, but everyone still has their own space (and crucially, actual beds after a few drinks at our bar). Win-win.

Couples Seeking Something Special

Looking for a romantic escape that’s more exciting than your standard hotel? Glamping delivers. Think cosy evenings, stargazing, breakfast with a view, and that lovely “we’re doing something different” feeling – all without sacrificing comfort. Our Conker pod with its private hot tub? 10 out of 10 for romance.

Instagram-Worthy Holiday Seekers

Let’s not beat around the bush – glamping looks absolutely gorgeous. Lights twinkling in safari tents, sunset views from your pod, that perfect “morning coffee outside” shot… If you want a holiday that photographs as well as it feels, glamping’s your answer. Aesthetic and comfy? Yes please.

Juniper Platinum caravan

Caravans

Caravans are the Goldilocks option – not too fancy, not too basic. Just right for families who want comfort, value, and a proper base to explore South Devon from.
They’re the reliable friend of holiday accommodation, they just work. Typically around 12 feet, caravans pack everything you need into one cosy space: kitchen, living area, bedrooms, bathroom. It’s all there. Here’s why they’re brilliant:

  • Home-from-home comfort – Proper kitchen, living area, bedrooms, and bathroom. Everything you need in one cosy space.
  • Best value for families – More affordable than lodges but WAY more comfortable than camping. The sweet spot for family budgets.
  • Proper dining space – An actual table and chairs for family meals together. No more balancing plates on laps or eating tea outside in the drizzle.
  • Multiple bedrooms – Kids in one room, adults in another. Privacy! Space! The glorious ability to put them to bed at 7pm and still stay up watching Netflix yourself!
  • Weatherproof – Rain forecast? Honestly, who cares. You’ve got solid walls, heating, and proper shelter. The holiday carries on regardless.
  • Easy for grandparents – Comfortable beds, proper facilities, mostly everything on one level. Perfect for multi-generational holidays where everyone needs to actually be comfortable (not just “managing”).

Who Chooses Caravans at Lady’s Mile?

Weather-Wary Brits

Let’s not kid ourselves – British weather is a lottery at best. These are the families who want the reassurance of solid walls, heating, and proper shelter, no matter what the sky decides to do. Rain? Fine. Wind? No problem. Caravans keep everyone comfortable, whatever’s happening outside. Holiday: saved.

Traditional Family Holiday-Makers

These families grew up with caravan holidays and have nothing but happy memories. Now they’re recreating that magic with their own kids. They love the classic British holiday park experience – familiar, reliable, nostalgic in all the right ways, and exactly what a proper family holiday should feel like.

Budget-Conscious Families

Parents who want proper accommodation – kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, living space, the works – but need to keep an eye on the budget (because kids are expensive, aren’t they?). Caravans deliver brilliant value. More space and comfort than camping, but kinder to your wallet than lodges. Smart choice, really.

First-Time Holiday Park Visitors

People giving holiday parks a go for the first time who want something straightforward and stress-free. Caravans are easy to understand, genuinely comfortable, and deliver exactly what they promise. No gimmicks, no surprises, just a solid, reliable base for exploring South Devon.

Multi-Generational Groups

Families bringing grandparents, aunts, uncles, the whole gang. When you’ve got different ages and maybe some mobility considerations, caravans (especially our accessible ones) are absolutely perfect. Proper beds, heating, easy access – everyone’s comfortable, everyone’s happy.

Practical Parents

The mums and dads who prioritise function over Instagram-worthy aesthetics (respect). They want separate bedrooms so the kids actually go to bed first. A proper dining table for family meals. Enough space so everyone’s not climbing over each other by day three. Caravans? Tick, tick, tick.

Firs Premier Mini Lodge living area

Mini Lodges

Ah, mini lodges, the perfect in-between. More stylish than caravans, but not as big (or pricey!) as full lodges. And here’s the best bit: they come with their very own private hot tub. Yes, really.

These cosy retreats are typically 12-14 feet wide, compact, but cleverly designed to make the most of every inch. Think open-plan living, comfortable sleeping, and that all-important hot tub just outside your door. It’s the perfect balance of style, comfort, and “treat yourself” mentality without going overboard.

Whether you’re after a romantic escape or just fancy something a bit special, mini lodges absolutely deliver.

Who Chooses Mini Lodges at Lady’s Mile?

Couples Seeking Romance & Privacy

Pairs looking for an intimate, cosy retreat that’s a step up from standard accommodation. Mini lodges offer that “special occasion” feel with private hot tubs, stylish interiors, and enough space for two. Perfect for anniversaries, romantic getaways, or just treating yourselves.

Hot Tub Enthusiasts

Let’s be honest, some people specifically want that private hot tub experience. They’re willing to pay a bit more to soak under the stars with a glass of wine in complete privacy. It’s the main attraction, and mini lodges deliver it perfectly.

Couples Without Kids (This Time!)

Parents who’ve left the kids with grandparents for a child-free weekend. They want comfort, a bit of indulgence, and that hot tub for proper relaxation, but don’t need (or want to pay for) a massive lodge with multiple bedrooms they won’t use.

Older Couples Wanting Simplicity

Pairs (often over 50s) who don’t need loads of space but do want quality, comfort, and easy living. Mini lodges are compact, manageable, everything’s on one level, and that hot tub is perfect for relaxing tired muscles after coastal walks.

Lodges

Right, let’s talk about the crème de la crème of our accommodation – our lodges. These are for when you want to properly treat yourself. More space, more style, and (here’s the big one) private hot tubs. Yes, really. Here’s why they’re absolutely brilliant:

  • More space – Proper room to spread out. No one’s tripping over suitcases or fighting for elbow room on the sofa.
  • Private hot tubs – Soak under the stars with a glass of something nice after the kids are asleep. This is the dream, people.
  • More comfort – Better beds, better furnishings, that “ahh, this is lovely” feeling the moment you walk in.
  • Stylish interiors – Actually nice to look at. You’ll want to take photos (and not just to prove you went on holiday).
  • Everything you need and more – Fully kitted out with all the mod cons. It’s like staying in a really lovely home that someone else cleans.

Who Chooses Lodges & Mini Lodges at Lady’s Mile?

Special Occasion Celebrators

Families marking big birthdays, anniversaries, or milestone celebrations – or honestly, just treating themselves because why not? Lodges feel special without being stuffy or over-the-top. Perfect for making those “remember when we…” memories.

Families Who Want Extra Space

Parents who’ve done caravans, enjoyed them, but now fancy levelling up a bit. Lodges offer more room to actually breathe, better facilities, and that extra comfort that makes a holiday feel genuinely relaxing rather than just “functional.” Sometimes you just want a bit more, you know?

Multi-Generational Groups Wanting Comfort

Families bringing grandparents, aunts, uncles – the whole crew – who want everyone comfortable but with a proper touch of style. Lodges give each generation their own space (crucial for harmony!) while still keeping everyone together for meals and quality time.

Friends’ Group Getaways

Groups of mates looking for somewhere to base a weekend catch-up. The bigger lodges are perfect – communal space for socialising, separate bedrooms so everyone gets decent sleep, and the hot tub for late-night chats.
