Dinosaurs, Digs & Smiles: Reliving Dinosaur Weekend

Dinosaurs, Digs & Smiles: Reliving Dinosaur Weekend

What. A. Weekend. Dinosaur Weekend officially stomped its way into Lady’s Mile, and we’re still smiling about it!

From the moment our prehistoric visitors arrived, the park was filled with excited explorers, curious palaeontologists, and plenty of roaring dinosaurs. It was fantastic to see so many families getting involved, making memories, and embracing the Jurassic chaos.

Whether you were digging for fossils, racing dinosaurs, or coming face-to-face with a towering T. rex, there was something around every corner to spark the imagination.

Let’s take a look back at some of the highlights from a truly roar-some weekend!

Dino Dig

Every great dinosaur adventure starts with a discovery!

Our Dino Dig gave little explorers the chance to channel their inner archaeologist and hunt for hidden prehistoric treasures. Armed with digging tools and plenty of enthusiasm, children searched for fossils and clues from the age of the dinosaurs.

There were lots of exciting discoveries made, and who knows… There may even have been a future dinosaur expert or two among the crowd!

Dinosaur Walkabout

One minute you were enjoying a stroll through the park, the next, a dinosaur was standing right beside you!

Our dinosaur walkabouts were a huge hit, with prehistoric creatures roaming freely around Lady’s Mile. From adorable baby dinosaurs to giant predators, there were surprises around every corner.

The star of the show? The mighty T. rex, of course.

We loved seeing everyone’s reactions as they came face-to-face with our prehistoric guests. There were plenty of smiles, a few nervous giggles, and more photo opportunities than we could count!

Rockstar Dino Race

The competition was fierce. The atmosphere was electric. And the dinosaurs were surprisingly fast.

Our Rockstar Dino Race quickly became one of the most talked-about events of the weekend, with spectators gathering to cheer on their favourite racers.

The crowd got louder with every race, and by the final stretch, everyone was fully invested in seeing their chosen racer cross the finish line first.

Who was your favourite? And more importantly… Did they win?

How To Train Your Dinosaur

Training a dinosaur isn’t as easy as it looks! Thankfully, our dinosaur experts were on hand to share some top tips and tricks on how to manage your prehistoric companion.

Guests learned how to interact safely with their dinosaurs, understand their behaviour, and most importantly, stop them from causing too much trouble around the park!

The interactive nature of these sessions made them a firm favourite with children and adults alike.

Dino Egg Making

Creativity was in full swing as our young dinosaur enthusiasts got the chance to create their very own dinosaur eggs.

There was plenty of colouring, decorating, and imagination on display as children carefully crafted their prehistoric masterpieces.

Each egg was completely unique, and we loved seeing all the fantastic creations that were proudly taken home at the end of the day.

Dino Hunt

You’d think something that big would be easy to spot. Apparently not!

Our Dino Hunt sent adventurers across the park searching for hidden dinosaurs and prehistoric clues. Despite their size, our dinosaurs proved surprisingly good at hiding, leading to plenty of excitement as families worked together to track them down.

There were laughs, surprises, and lots of celebrating whenever a dinosaur was finally discovered.

It was the perfect way to round off an action-packed day of prehistoric fun.
